Do you think you’re really good at picking winners each week of the NFL season? If so, are you ready to put your money where your mouth is? Not sure? How about if it could make you a millionaire?
For the third consecutive year, the Circa Sportsbook in Las Vegas is running the Circa Sports Million and Circa Survivor contest during the NFL season. All you have to do in both competitions is pick the winners. But in the Sports Million contest, you are picking five winners against the spread each week.
With the Survivor contest, you are picking one winner a week, but the trick is that you can only pick a team once throughout the duration of the competition. Pick a winner each week, and you remain alive in the contest.
Circa Sports CEO Derek Stevens had this to say about the contests recently:
“With all the interest in sports gambling and the fact that people were locked down, we felt football contests would explode in popularity. We think doing the $10 million guarantee is going to be great for Las Vegas and is going to draw a lot of people to our city ….”
It will cost you $1,000 per contest to enter (max three entries for Sports Million and six for the Survivor). But if you win, you are guaranteed to take home either $1 million (for the Sports Million contest) or a cool $6 million (for the Survivor contest).
But if you do not win the top prize in the Sports Million Contest, you can still take home more money than you are risking. Rank inside the top 50 at the end of the season, and you are guaranteed to take home more than the cost of an entry.
The Sports Million contest also awards prize money to the top three and dead last contestants for each quarter of the season.
There is a catch to both contests, though. Entries and picks must be made each week in Vegas (or Nevada via the app). But that does not mean people from out of state cannot enter. There are proxy services that will place your picks for you.
Between the two contests, Circa Sportsbook is guaranteeing $10 million in payouts. But if they receive more than enough entries to cover the guaranteed payout, the additional money will be added to the prize pool.
So, if you think you are really good at picking the winners each week and have $1,000 you are not doing anything with, well … there are worse ways to risk $1,000.
